Breastfeeding is natural, but it doesn’t always come naturally!

Personal Help

There are times when a breastfeeding family needs support and encouragement from someone who has successfully breastfed her own baby. La Leche League Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help families with all aspects of breastfeeding. If you have questions about breastfeeding, whether before your baby’s birth, during the first few days, or later, personal help is available by phone.

To reach a Leader near you, click on the Phone Numbers page or call the warm-line numbers above.

Group Meetings

Establishing a network of support in your decision to breastfeed your baby is an important element of successful breastfeeding.  Babies and support people are always welcome at La Leche League meetings. Meetings occur in-person throughout the metro area and virtually a few times a month.
Topics covered include:

  • The Advantages of Breastfeeding
  • Getting Off to a Good Start and Family Adjustments to a New Baby
  • The Art of Breastfeeding: Avoiding and Overcoming Difficulties
  • Nutrition and Weaning

Many La Leche League Groups maintain a lending library of books and resources on childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting, and nutrition.  La Leche League’s own publication, THE WOMANLY ART of BREASTFEEDING, is available for loan or purchase.
